About Us

We are Amanda and Dillon and we started Morningstar Oddities because of our love of the strange, unusual, haunted, and dark world around us. We have been paramedics in North Central Florida for a combined 30+ years and are no stranger to death and the unusual. But with this, there is also the desire to take the part of life most people turn their backs to and create something beautiful to show that everyone and everything deserves to be remembered.

Amanda started making wet specimens and pinning insects many years ago and loves the chaos that comes from the artistic process. She also loves playing video games like Dead by Daylight, Borderlands and Fallout, watching anime, horror movies, and cult classics. Most of the time she binge watches Critical Roll while creating and caring for the pieces you see.

Dillon is and artist of a different kind. Music is his passion and he loves to perform. While being in many bands in his life, he has also released music on Spotify under the name The Squeaky Caskets. A horror fan to a fault, he loves watching horror movies and collecting horror movie memorabilia and vintage VHS tapes. He can be found binging an entire franchise while creating some of the sleek pieces you see.
